Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Initially conceptualized in 1978, the Indo-Pacific Association of Law, Medicine and Forensic Sciences (INPALMS) had its roots in Singapore under the auspices of the late Professor Chao Tzee Cheng. Since then, it had steadfastly expanded to include many nations outside of Europe and the Americas as well as individual members.
Intended to foster friendly cooperation and regular exchange of ideas among its members, its main thrust is to encourage education and research in the fields of Legal Medicine, Forensic Science and Law Enforcement.
It is in pursuit of this very laudable objective that it had successfully conducted Seven Congresses under the able leadership of Prof. M. S. L. Salgado of Sri-Lanka, Prof. Yoshitsugu Tatsuno of Japan and its current president, Prof. Stephen Cordner of Australia, among others. The next Congress will be held in Manila come September 19-24, 2004.
In behalf of the Philippine Association of Forensic Medicine and the Forensic Science Society of the Philippines, we are inviting you to actively participate in the forthcoming 8th Congress and share with us your ideas and observations.
Teresita R. Sanchez, M.D., LL.B.
Chair, 8th Congress of INPALMS
